Current market situation
Elkatec™ offers a cabling concept with plug-in connections freely available on the market, such as the 7-pin bayonet plug for connection to taillights. As almost all lighting manufacturers are now able to equip their taillights with this interface, new possibilities for trailer lighting cabling are emerging.
The brand name elkaLight™ combines many new ideas and examples for modern vehicle construction. Detailed technical drawings allow a variety of variants, which you can easily expand. Clear connection marks and well-known accessories complete the topic.

Fig. below: Cabling example, in which the rear light provides further connection possibilities (in the case of the parking lights and reversing lights). With the elkatec™ cabling all relevant lighting components can be connected additionally with the tried and tested 7-pole bayonet and 2-pole Superseal interfaces. The above-described front distributors are used as the basis. The individual functions are then routed to the rear of the vehicle via a main cable and then connected to the rear lights via a rear distributor.
In order to extend the wiring harness, a wide variety of intermediate adapters can be used, in order to expand this with various additional functions.

The sketch shows a standard cabling with a Premium front distributor. The elkatec™ Flexbox is used as a special adapter. With help of the adapter, the entire functional range of the ISO standards 12098 / 1185 / 3731 can be made available for additional functions.

Wiring example for rear lights without distributor function. In the case of lighting system cabling without a rear light distribution function, various Y-distribution lines are used. With these, additional cable outlets are applied to the 7-pole light connections. In the example (sketch below), three 2-pole Superseal pin connections per side are provided with the “parking light” function.

“Superflex” coiled cable – with the the genuine bending protection! Connecting line for semitrailer (suitable for ADR). The new spiral bending protection increases the ISO-demanded bending and vibration resistance by a mutiple. Longer durability, highly elastic, very resistant against chemicals.
